The Rockland Public Library accepts donations of gently-used books, DVDs and CDs. These items may be sold by the Friends of Rockland Public Library in their Book Stop or at a book sale, or added to the library’s collection. Books deemed unsellable may be offered on our free cart or recycled. Proceeds from sales help to fund new books and programs.
The library is unable to accept:
Damaged books including ones with mold, mildew, musty or smoky smell, water or other stains or pages with highlighting
Encyclopedias, reference books, thesauruses or dictionaries
Textbooks
Magazines
Remainders from other organization’s book sales or discarded books from other libraries
VHS movies, vinyl records and audio cassettes
Reader’s Digest condensed books
Technical/computer books over 5 years old
The library can only accept 2-3 bags/boxes at a time. For larger quantities, please make an appointment for your delivery. Call the library at 594-0310 and leave your name, phone number, and the best times for you to bring in your donations. Someone from the Friends will call you to set up an appointment; they will do their best to accommodate your schedule.
